Basondo
Basondo is located near the Caves of Santimamiñe and the Magical Forest .It´s a sanctuary for the wild animals of the region (wild boar, deer, mountain cats, birds of prey, otters etc. This sanctuary has also saved many rare animals and birds and some which are in danger of extinction ( European bison, Iberian wolves, European lynx…)
Timetable: 11:00 till night fall
Open: Weekends and bank holidays all year. Easter holidays and summer from 1st. July - 30th. September.
Closed: 25th. December and 1st. January.
The Caves of Santimamiñe
The original gallery were the care paintings are found, is closed to public and only limited numbers of people are allowed to enter the caves on any one day. This is also by prior arrangement by phone.
